The main objectives of the Council are the use of existing resources and services in order to promote and encourage the elderly black maintenirleur autonomy and independence with dignity, respect and self-esteem as long as possible. Elisha Faure was the Director of the Council, it was one of those who believed in the realization of this dream.

After years of collaboration and work with ROMEL, a community group of technical resources, and financial support through the three levels of government, the Council was able to contribute to affordable housing for a large number of elderly community: the Golden Gate Islands.

This building is intended to be treated and respected at all times in accordance with the objectives of the founding members. Although blacks and native English speakers, their vision was to protect the health, dignity and respect for all the elders of the community, regardless of their language, ethnicity, religion, or color.

The motto of LaPorte Golden Isles is the same for all people: peace, love, communication, honesty, respect and solidarity. We are God's blessing to all and sundry.
